JWDA invented a new and revolutionary video camcorder which recorded video and audio onto conventional analog audio tape. Playback was through a standard TV. The resulting camera was inexpensive, easy to use and provided a unique video image. Licensed to Fisher Price, the PXL 2000 took the toy market by storm. Its history is documented on numerous websites and histories of film making.

JWDA provide all conceptual design, electrical and mechanical engineering and related product development. JWDA also locating and coordinated the product’s manufacture in the Far East.

A number of patents were granted for innovative technologies pertaining to storage and retrieval of video data from audio tape, and aspects of the camera’s electrical and mechanical design.
