C-R Bard

Bard retained JWDA to develop a new concept in pain management, a Patient Controlled Analgesia delivery device (PCA). JWDA working closely with Bard’s marketing personnel to define the product’s operational and ergonomic requirements and then implemented a design which used a pre existing syringe pump as the basis. As a result, this revolutionary product only required a 510k FDA certification instead of a complete, costly and time consuming review and certification.

Bard later retained JWDA to design and develop a series of microprocessor controlled syringe infusion devices.  These devices, Mini Infusers, were produced in a variety of configurations and have been used the world over.

In all cases, JWDA provided product planning, mechanical and electronic engineering, software, industrial design, prototypes and manufacturing documentation.
